1. What does window cleaning professional really mean?

A professional window cleaner means more than buying a set of gear from Bunnings.  Even though the equipment is relatively cheap (and no we don’t get it from Bunnings), having that equipment does not make you a window cleaner any more than owning a spanner makes you a mechanic.  It takes thousands of windows and hours of practice to become proficient.  There is also a significant investment for ladders, poles and water machines, all of which may be needed on a given job.  Without access to these options your job may not get done properly.

2. Why Should I clean my windows?

Unmaintained windows will eventually stay dirty permanently. Considering your home is most likely your most value asset you want to keep it nice. You wouldn’t want to pay $25,000 to get all new windows when it may cost $250 a year to clean. If you are looking to sell your home, window washing is rated the best return on investment when selling a home

3. How do I get a quote?

For Domestic work we would be more than happy to give you a price average for a comparable job to yours over the phone. Also, before we begin your service we can give you an accurate price if you would like. Any questions you might have can be addressed before we get started.  Commercial work will require us to attend and give a free no obligation written quotation

4. When you come to clean windows, will that include screens, tracks, and frames?

We focus mainly on glass. Although we are more than happy to wash screens, vacuum tracks and scrub sills and frames. Just let us know when we attend what services you require.

5. Can you remove paint/varnish from my windows?

Yes we can! City Clean can safely remove material such as paint, varnish and stickers from windows. This does take longer and is not included in the normal quote; this would be considered an initial clean up job.

6. I love my home. How is my property treated?

We take pride in our work and also treat our customer’s property as if it were our own. We rarely drop water inside and if we do it will be cleaned up as though we were never there (except for the sparkling glass).

7. What do you use to clean windows?

We only use a mild cleaning solution in our bucket (you don’t want your hands dipped in anything too aggressive all day) with a squeegee and a micro fibre applicator. We may also use a system known as the Water Fed Pole on the exterior which is a purified water system that eliminates the need for a squeegee. This distributes de-ionized water which dries spot free. We are able to reach up to 4 stories with this method and eliminate the need for ladders.

8. I can’t seem to find the guy that did my windows last year but can you do it for the same price?

It’s possible but not a guarantee. You see there may be reasons why you can’t locate the man who did you windows last year. He may have moved but chances are he priced himself out of a job and is in search of another line of work. Price is always a concern but knowing your window cleaner is a professional that will provide guaranteed work for years to come is priceless.

9. Is it necessary for me to be at home during the window cleaning?

If you wish to be home during the window cleaning, we are happy to schedule an appointment which suits your schedule. However, it is not always necessary for you to be home for the entire appointment. We can start on the interior window cleaning and as long as your screens pop out, you can lock up your home and leave while we continue on the exterior. In cases of vacancies, your presence is optional but not a necessity, as long as access is provided.

10. Should I have my Windows cleaned before selling my house?

Certainly!According to a survey of 2000 real estate agents conducted by HomeGain.com and reported on Money Magazine, having your windows cleaned is one of the most cost-effective and high-return investments you can make on your home to get it ready to sell.

11. Can I have just have outside windows cleaned?

You can have just the outside windows cleaned, but it is highly recommended to clean the inside, at least annually. Cleaning both sides is the only way to ensure that you are getting the highest quality of cleaning. Streaks or dirt on the other side of the glass can be very deceiving. People are often amazed at how clean their windows are when they are done professionally.

One exception to cleaning only the outside windows would be recurring customers who have their windows cleaned several times per year.

12. Doesn’t rain make my window dirty?

Rain doesn’t make your windows dirty, dirt does. The dust from landscapers, tree pollen, exhaust, and many other sources settles on your windows and rain drops causing the dirt to move around your windows leaving an obscured view after the rain dries. The residue is now very visible because it’s been spread over the window. Clean windows remain clean after the rain because once the water dries there is little left behind to obscure your view.

13. Will you call me to remind me that I need my windows cleaned?

City Clean can schedule any service and frequency years in advance.  We can then either send a reminder or, if work is pre approved, attend to site and invoice.  Strata title units are letterboxed around one week in advance.
